ADEKUNLE GOLD TREATS FANS TO FIRST-OF-A-KIND ALBUM LISTENING EXHIBITION


Urban Highlife music sensation Adekunle Gold has set a new record as the first Nigerian singer to hold an exclusive album listening exhibition for fans; absolutely free of charge ahead of the album’s release.
The listening exhibition of the singer’s sophomore album ‘About 30’ held on Tuesday, May 22 at Upbeat Recreational Centre, Lekki, Lagos has been well-received by music critics and fans – with some describing the feat as a paradigm shift for artist-to-fan relationship in this part of the world.
The exhibition room is specially orchestrated in a manner that vividly gives the ambience a presence of Adekunle’s artistry and the album’s theme.
The room has in it; 14 booths, with each dedicated to a track from the album.
A few weeks back, Adekunle released the album’s track list revealing 14 songs and two bonus songs.
Some of the songs in each booth include ‘Mr. Foolish’ featuring the enigmatic and phenomenal Seun Kuti, ‘There is A God’ featuring popular choir LCGC of This Present House Church, ‘Yoyo’ featuring Flavour, ‘Pablo Alakori’, among others.
Each booth also has headphones, along with the lyrics to the track in which it is designated to – giving listeners a serene listening pleasure.
With the album released Friday, May 25, Adekunle Gold has promised fans ‘About 30’ would be a momentous body of work which would not only showcase his ingrained talent to the world, but also give fans an incredibly advanced and never-before-seen side of the singer’s art.
Fans of the ‘Ire’ singer have since stated on social media that ‘About 30’ would surpass the success his debut album ‘Gold’ enjoyed – with hundreds still in awe after experiencing the listening exhibition.
One fan wrote; “After getting a feel of @adekunlegold’s album; my brain is still trying to process such remarkable genius infused into a body of work. ‘About 30’ listening exhibition is absolutely unique, fresh and awe-inspiring and trust me when I say; this entire album is Billboard material. This album is about to put Nigeria on the map worldwide!”
‘About 30’ would mark Adekunle Gold’s official second body of work; a direct follow up to 2016’s ‘Gold’ album.
The album’s tracklist starts at number 17; picking up from where his debut tracklist ended; at track 16.
